Carolyn Barnett
Learning to knit as a child in England, Carolyn has been
earning her living as a textile artisan for twenty seven years.
Working only in natural fibers, Carolyn uses mostly wool
and cotton. Embellishments include beads, ribbons, fancy
yarns, her own felted items, and her own handmade polymer
clay buttons.
Carolyn started with hand knits and moved to the domestic
Knitting machine. She has honed her color mixing skills over
the years. Her knits have traveled the world over, recently
to New Zealand, Italy and to the Cannes Film Festival.
Theatre costume work has also been part of Carolyn’s art;
as well, her work has been used in many advertisements.
Cardigans – lovingly called cardis – are the mainstay of Carolyn’s
work. Using her own designs, she creates art to wear, and a

Lately Carolyn has also been making wraps in both cotton and
wool which are wonderful year round additions to any wardrobe.
