Raised in Montreal, Mary attended Loyola College and obtained a
degree in chemistry. After teaching high school and doing research
at McMaster University, she relocated to the Ottawa area in 1970.
While raising a family, Mary studied art over 8 years with Robert Hyndman
and took classes at the Ottawa School of Art and Haliburton School of
Art, among others.
A founding member of the Ottawa Valley Decorative Artists Guild, she
was also president of the Canadian Artists Decorative Network.
Currently Mary is a member of the Rideau Valley Artists Association,
VAGA, and ECOAA.
In 1990 Mary found a renewed desire to work in Fine Art. She now
paints with oils, alkyds, and fluid acrylics. Mary is moved to capture
the moment, drawn to the spirit of older structures, streetscapes, and
landscapes.
Her work is held in personal collections across Canada.
